About CDA

Academic Development Center (CDA) is an academic support structure of the West University of Timișoara and is under the direct coordination of the Vice-Rector responsible for Academic Strategy. Associate Professor Mădălin BUNOIU, PhD.

The mission and strategic objectives of the CDA reflect, pursue, and support UVT’s objectives of promoting and achieving professional quality standards. The policy for the personal and professional development of members of the academic community stems from the overall mission of the UVT: “advanced scientific research and education, the generation and transfer of knowledge to society through continuous training at university level, for the purpose of personal development, professional integration of the individual, and meeting the competence needs of the socio-economic environment” (UVT CHARTER, 2012) and directly targets the implementation of activities that contribute to the achievement of one of the strategic objectives set out in the UVT Rector’s Management Plan: “Developing the university’s human resources in a collegial environment based on socialization, cooperation, and collaboration, in which value and ongoing involvement in achieving common goals are the dimensions that underpin career development” and the operational objective:

Promoting training and professional development in teaching, promoting initial and continuing training programs with psycho-pedagogical and specialized content, both for UVT students and for higher education graduates or teachers in pre-university and university education. Creating a UVT staff development center to support UVT teaching staff in improving the quality of teaching and promoting a formative teaching process.

The mission of CDA is the continuous personal and professional development of university teaching staff (CDU) and other categories of university staff (managerial, teaching assistants, and support staff), as well as various categories of adult learners involved in education and training, through training programs and activities, educational and organizational consulting, and through the implementation of educational research and innovation projects with the aim of improving the quality of educational activities, scientific output, and administrative processes.

Objective No. 1 continuous development and improvement of CDU at UVT through customized training paths in the following three areas: teaching, scientific research, and promotion of a culture of quality.

Objective No. 2 continuous development and improvement of auxiliary teaching and support staff at UVT in order to optimize the administrative processes of the university organization.

Objective No. 3 increasing the visibility and prestige of UVT by offering training programs and activities, educational and organizational consulting to other interested organizations and/or institutions.

Objective No. 4 conducting studies and empirical research in the field of university education to streamline activities specific to university education.
